I was born in Tillamook, Oregon and moved to Redmond, Oregon a few years later. I have really grown to love Central Oregon; the sunshine definitely grows on you. Like many in the area I enjoy outdoor activities hiking, exploring, but especially Golf. After high school I joined the Air Force and saw the world. I have been able to spend sometime in the middle east along with a year and half in South Korea. After getting out of the Air Force in 2004 I entered Oregon State University to study Education and Geology. When I am not on the golf course, I am an avid amateur Astronomer. From an early age, I have been fascinated by the universe around me. I first discovered Astronomy in the 5th grade when at an outdoor camp I looked through my first telescope. From that point I have been hooked. When I got my first actual pay check at the age of 16, I bought my first telescope. It was a small 4.5in Newtonian. I spent countless hours with it exploring the sky in my backyard and In 1996 I purchased a second telescope 8in Dobsonian. My love for Astronomy has led me two Star Parties (a gathering of amateur astronomers) and now I own 4 telescopes. Just recently I purchased a vintage LX-10 Schmidt-Cassegrain that I am restoring to its prime. In the summer of 2007, I was married to my wife, Kate. At Oregon State University I was the Co-op Director at Avery Lodge. I learned alot and had an amazing time. I graduated from OSU in 2008 and made the move to Sandy, Oregon.
